For Whom We Should Pray

0:00 I would be thankful,

0:04 thinking how great blessings thou hast

0:11 bestowed,

0:12 O God, upon my way. I would

0:17 be prayerful, knowing well my weakness,

0:21 the sins that do beset me day by day, and yet

0:25 not selfish,

0:26 even in my praying. Forgetting others' needs

0:29 at thought of mine,

0:31 I would be

0:31 filled with thine own great compassion,

0:34 would share thy selfless sympathy divine. I

0:38 ask blessings for the sick and helpless,

0:41 the young,

0:42 young children set about with snares,

0:45 and for the old, the lonely, the forsaken,

0:49 the poor in whose sad eyes gaunt hunger

0:52 stares.

0:53 I would plead pardon for the weak and

0:56 earring,

0:56 sin-blinded souls that somehow go astray,

0:59 that

1:00 stag underneath a burden past our knowing,

1:03 and wildly wonder how they misted the way.

1:07 And

1:07 yet of all sad souls,

1:09 to me the saddest are those that never think

1:13 of thee nor pray,

1:14 and

1:15 so for prayerless lives and thankless spirits

1:19 I crave thy tenderest pity,
